About Us
Everyone Has Strengths.
The Educational Edge was founded on a simple but powerful belief: that every individual - regardless of ability, diagnosis, or learning difference - deserves to be fully seen, celebrated and included.
Our Story
The Why
The Educational Edge was born out of a deep frustration with the gaps that exist for neurodiverse learners - gaps in education, community and belonging. We saw too many students isolated in classrooms and falling through the cracks in a deficit based system focused on what's wrong instead of what's strong.
We began with a conviction that an age-appropriate environment with peers focused on strengths and interests - along with presumed competence and high expectations - could change the trajectory of learning. The results were magical. There was an increase in academics, communication, social skills, confidence and emotional wellness for everyone involved.
What began as educational support has grown into a multi-faceted non-profit organization offering educational services, community based programs, coaching, professional development for educators, and inclusion initiatives all rooted in the foundational belief that everyone belongs.
Our Mission
To create inclusive educational, social/ recreational, community and personal growth opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental challenges - and to equip the educators, families, and communities around them to build a world where everyone belongs.
Our Vision
A world where every individual with a learning difference is included, valued, and given every opportunity to discover and share their strengths and interests.
What EDGE Means to Us
Individualized, strengths-based learning that meets every person exactly where they are - and believes in possibilities.
Building the skills, confidence, independence, and self-advocacy that lead to a full and meaningful life.
Expanding possibilities - academically, socially, personally, and in terms of community connection.
Honoring every person's voice, strengths, and inherent right to be a full and valued member of their community.
Our Approach
Strengths-Based. Person-Centered. Relationship-Driven.
Everything we do is grounded in a deep respect for the whole person. We don't start with deficits - we start with strengths. We don't design programs and fit people into them - we listen to individuals and families and build around their vision for life. We believe that relationships are the foundation of all meaningful growth, and that belonging is not a privilege - it is a right.
Strengths-Based
We identify and build on what each person does well, rather than focusing on deficits or limitations.
Person-Centered
Services and supports are designed around the individual's goals, preferences, and vision - not a one-size-fits-all model.
Relationship-Driven
We believe genuine relationships with peers, educators, and community are the foundation of growth and belonging.
High Expectations
We hold high expectations for every individual we serve, because we know what becomes possible when someone truly believes in you.
Family Partnership
Families are essential partners. We communicate openly, collaborate closely, and honor the expertise families bring.
Community Inclusion
True inclusion happens in real communities, not just in classrooms. We work to create belonging in every area of life.

Our Inclusion Philosophy
"Inclusion isn't about being present in the same space. It's about being known, valued, and genuinely part of something."
