Better Together Project
The Better Together Project is our social and recreational program for individuals of all abilities ages 16 and up. What makes The Better Together Project different is the blend of inclusive experiences, service projects, purposeful learning and friendships. Through community outings, social events, life skills, interactive activities, and peer connection, The Better Together Project provides experiences that build confidence, explore interests and deepen relationships.
Experiences That Open Doors
Social & Recreational Experiences
From bowling nights and art workshops to hiking, boating and game days, we create fun, accessible experiences where participants can be themselves.
Community Outings
We explore local restaurants, parks, museums, hiking trails, sporting events, and more! We build familiarity with community spaces and the confidence to navigate them.
Peer Relationships
Friendships don't happen by accident. We intentionally create environments where individuals of all abilities connect, laugh, and grow together.
Life Skills in Action
Real-world practice in budgeting, transportation, communication, and decision-making are woven naturally into activities.
Employment Exploration
We introduce participants to the world of work through job shadows, informational interviews, community service experiences, and conversations with community employers.
Leadership & Self-Advocacy
Participants are encouraged to share their voice, make choices, and take on leadership roles within the group because self-determination starts here.

What's Happening

We Work With Your Funding
Better Together activities may be funded through Regional Center services, the Self-Determination Program (SDP), third party billing or private pay. We are happy to help you understand your options and connect you with the right resources.
Regional Center
Many participants access Better Together through their Regional Center service coordinator. Ask your coordinator about social/recreational services.
Self-Determination Program
If you are enrolled in SDP, you may be able to use your individual budget to fund Better Together participation.
Private Pay
We offer private pay options for families who prefer to pay directly. Contact us for current rates and scheduling.
